Last night we got together with a couple friends before seeing “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” at Hale. Strangely written show. Hale always does a good job though.
But yeah. One of our friends had been in the hospital with a health problem but is doing better now, so we met up with them.
It was really [...]

It was a fantastic weekend over here in my world.
Friday night Conrad went to a football game and I hung out with Max. He was being so sweet, it was unbelievable. We snuggled and watched boxing (I really don’t mind so much watching his stuff over and over if I have gossip magazines to read, [...]

I haven’t been able to post pictures lately. My work computer doesn’t seem to want to do it. Kind of annoying.
I probably shouldn’t use my work computer for anything important at all lately. Last week, I was happily working on a possible Examiner.com article, and I clicked on a link to see some pictures from [...]

Today I have the day off. I slept in a little bit, then took Max to school at 8:30. He went galloping happily in. He sure is a happy guy.
Then I headed over to Squaw Peak. I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much at this later hour of the day. TOO HOT! Today it’s supposed [...]

Here they are, a pic of me with my lovely little PencilPal, Victoria, and a certificate attesting that I did this. Yes, I am a caring, active member of the community, who gives freely of my spare time to give delight [...]

Enough woe is me stuff. It’s there, it’s there all the time, I’ve acknowledged it, but no need to endlessly repeat it.
In a little bit I’m having a pizza party get-together at a local elementary school. I was a PencilPal, which was through the BookPals program of the Screen Actors’ Guild. I joined up while [...]

I auditioned the other day to sing the national anthem at a Diamondbacks game this season (my audition is pictured above). I did OK, not brilliant, but the funny part is how I got there.
Conrad was dropping me off, and there were a bunch of confusing road closures all around the area of Chase Field. So [...]

Well, I think I impressed them quite favorably!
I put them at their ease with some spinach hors d’oeuvres from Trader Joe’s. (To Abi Jones: I liked the spinach spanakopitas, but the ham and cheese puff pastry cups turned out soggy and I deemed them unservable). I actually cleaned off the coffee table, and more miraculously, [...]

My birthday is at hand. February 2. I’m 35.
This is the first birthday I’m really not happy about. I have to say aging really bothers me, it does. 34, I could still tell myself I was 23-plus. But 35! There’s a finality to it. There is nothing girlish about THIRTY-FIVE.
And think of all the levels [...]

Max walking around the house holding his little pumpkin carrier saying “Twi - oh - Twee,” over and over again.
What’s not so cute is that he got up at 3:45 this morning, ready to rock and roll. What the hell!!? On a damn Saturday!!!
Today we’re going to a wedding. I LOVE WEDDINGS! I’m a sap. [...]
