Max is hilarious. Whenever he couldn’t find his “This Old Man” book, he would say to me urgently, “This Old Man a book. This Old Man a book.”
Conrad and I would intone, in the portentous fashion of voiceovers on movie theater previews- “This Old Man . . . A Book.”
Maybe you had to be there.
Once [...]

Today at the mall, Max and I got in the elevator. He loves elevators, and he was hopping around squealing and flapping his arms. He was completely adorable, and at that moment, utterly, obviously autistic.
This very yuppie looking couple got in with us. She was pregnant, and they already had a little baby in a [...]

1) Max lost his fourth tooth yesterday.
2) I got another ongoing writing assignment I applied for, Phoenix TV Examiner.
3) I finally learned how to make homemade macaroni and cheese that doesn’t suck.
Let’s start with the last one first. I must once again thank Amanda Hesser, for I used her recipe. It’s not that hard. I [...]

Well, it’s Saturday morning. Conrad’s taken Max for an outing, and I stayed home to clean our wretched house.
I’m poised to dig in but am of course procrastinating a bit first.
In looking for music to put on while I clean, I saw that there’s an all-Christmas music channel now. YAY! I do believe I’m ready [...]

Last night we got together with a couple friends before seeing “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” at Hale. Strangely written show. Hale always does a good job though.
But yeah. One of our friends had been in the hospital with a health problem but is doing better now, so we met up with them.
It was really [...]

Ok, seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Max was up till ONE-THIRTY last night.
Whyyyyyyy!?
I didn’t even last. I could only make it till 12 and passed out on the couch, even after consuming a vat of mint chip ice cream (shut up, it was medicinal, I was trying to help myself stay awake).
Conrad didn’t have an [...]

It was a fantastic weekend over here in my world.
Friday night Conrad went to a football game and I hung out with Max. He was being so sweet, it was unbelievable. We snuggled and watched boxing (I really don’t mind so much watching his stuff over and over if I have gossip magazines to read, [...]

Last night, we unexpectedly found out that our friends from Salt Lake were in town. We met up with them for dinner and had no sitter, so we brought Max.
Aaaagahgahagaghahhh!
We chose a teppanyaki restaurant that was fairly casual. From the start it was rough. Max did NOT want to be there. He was weepy and [...]

So I just got back from the workout room downstairs. The last time I was in there a girl had “Steel Magnolias” on the TV. I don’t care, I don’t use the TV but I don’t mind listening to whatever someone else has on.
I really hoped I’d be done before the part where Julia Roberts [...]

Today is Max’s seventh birthday!
I can’t believe it. SEVEN. That is just crazy. He’s growing up so fast.
He’s actually cognizant of his birthday this year!! So cool. Today after work I’ll get his “seven balloon” blown up. And he’s going to have some treats at school.
Not much in the way of gifts this year. Odds [...]
